Privacy

• No accounts, no cookies, no analytics, and no ad trackers.
• Your photo is processed in your browser and never stored.
• Your last thread list is kept in this browser, and only here, so you can come back to it. It holds thread numbers, not your photo.
• When AI assist is on, a small preview of your crop is sent to an AI model to double-check the palette.

When you choose or take a photo, your browser decodes it, crops it, and extracts the colors itself. The full photo is never uploaded. It is discarded when you start over, reload, or leave the page.

So a reload or a closed tab doesn't lose your list, Threadwise keeps the last one in your browser's local storage: the matched thread numbers and colors, your canvas size and mesh count, and what you ticked off in the store checklist. It never includes your photo or its preview, and it is never sent anywhere.

It stays until a new list replaces it. To remove it, choose Forget on the home page or clear this site's data in your browser. Clearing site data also forgets the mesh count Threadwise remembers for your next canvas.

AI assist is optional and only runs when it is turned on for this site. While it runs, the results page says “AI assist is double-checking your palette”.

It sends a JPEG preview of your crop, no larger than 512 pixels on its longest side, and the list of extracted colors. They travel from our server through the Vercel AI Gateway to an AI model provider, which returns suggestions. Threadwise does not store the preview or the suggestions. The model provider's own terms cover how it handles requests.

To limit how often AI assist can run, your IP address is held briefly in server memory. It is never written to disk.

The Shop menu opens a retailer's own site in a new tab, where its privacy policy applies. The links currently carry no tracking or affiliate codes. Copy list writes to your clipboard only when you click it.

Like any website, the servers that host Threadwise may keep standard request logs, such as IP address, time, and page requested, for security and reliability.
